My Twelth Blog non-toxic cleaning

I used to stand in the cleaning isle of the supermarket and breath deep and think "Wow, it smells so good!" Have you ever done that?

When I first started using essential oils to clean I was convinced they were just nice smells but had no cleaning power. I was however willing to try them and started by using the OnGuard all purpose cleaner.

The smell of Orange, Cinnamon and Clove was welcome and I found it to be more pleasant than the cleaner I usually used. I did not notice it cleaning better however it was just as good at cleaning, but the smell. I was blown away when I walked back into the room later at it still smelled amazing. I would walk back into the room and smile ( I still do). Where I noticed a bigger difference was when washing dishes.
Under normal circumstances if I had a cut on my hands I did not do dishes. Previous to OnGuard Concentrate, every time I did dishes if I had a cut or scrape it would get infected and hurt like crazy, so my rule became, have a cut - the dishes can wait. With the OnGuard cleaner concentrate my cut fingers actually felt better! I have no idea what or why my hands would be in bad shape when doing dishes before, and I do not really understand exactly why OnGuard cleaner makes my hands feel better if they are cut or scrapped. However, I was, and still am, grateful that problem has been solved. Continuing on with house cleaning.
Do you like to scrub tiles? I sure do not. I used to get out of the shower and while the tiles were still wet and spray  to prevent soap scum. When I did, I would hold my breath, squint my eyes (as they would burn if mist got near them) spray fast, flip the fan on and then close the door. Later in the day when I turned off the fan and left the door open again, my two cats would lick the water out of the tub (faucet on dripping). It never crossed my mind that the cats were drinking poison. It never occurred to me that I could have clean tiles and not have to harm my lungs or eyes in the process. The spray I then started using is made with 2 cups of water in a glass spray bottle with 30 drops of Tea Tree and 10 Drops of Peppermint essential oil. I would spray on the walls in the shower and it smelled way better and the tiles still looked great! It did not hurt my eyes and I could breath deeply and not feel like my lungs were being attacked. Non-toxic, smells way better and works, who could ask for more? I then converted to cleaning everything with essential oils.
One of my favorite new things was doing wood furniture. It took me a couple tries to find the recipe I use now, there are so many options to hit everyones' best like scent-cleaning combo.
