FIFTY-Fifth Blog How to USE BOGO oils on your road to ReNew You

Have you been enjoying the savings for BOGO WEEK? How many essential oils did you get this week? Hope you were able to get the box, (I missed out) it sold out before I could get one on day two, Wednesday evening. Now that you have your new oils, here are the ways you can use them.

BOGO 1 was On Guard and Easy Air/Breathe for our US peeps.
On Guard®
I love the spicy, energizing, uplifting aroma of On Guard. I like adding it to hot water. It tastes like Chinese spiced tea.
Adding honey to your On Guard tea is a warm and cozy drink. Only 1-2 drops of On Guard is needed for big flavour.

Remember that water molecules are bigger than the essential oil so the oils have a lower boiling point. If you can have a kettle you can set use 158 degrees.

When making hand sanitizer On Guard is a great addition as it has a chemical makeup with cleansing properties. You can make a spray cleanser out of it as well to clean surfaces. Your DIY can be as simple as a glass spray bottle with water and a few drops of On Guard.

The diffuser is a great place to use it. On Guard helps to cleanse the air and surfaces.

On Guard contains NHP (Natural Health Product) oils. This means some of the oils in On Guard, have approved health claims.

These health claims are approved by Health Canada.
Clove
  • Used in aromatherapy to help relieve joint/muscle pain associated with sprains, strains and rheumatoid arthritis.
  • Used in aromatherapy to help relieve colds and coughs
 Wild Orange
  • Used in aromatherapy as a nervine and calmative
  • Used in aromatherapy as a carminative and antispasmodic for symptomatic relief of digestive discomfort

Another great place to use On Guard is in the laundry. Just 1-2 drops of On Guard in your wash will help boost your cleansing power and make your laundry smell better. If you use dryer balls, you can add a few drops of On guard before each round of drying.

Easy Air®
This blend of essential oils has saved me often. It helps create a breathable environment. The minty, relaxing, fresh aroma has been my best friend when I have trouble breathing.

Easy-Air provides a soothing and cooling sensation to the skin and feels good when rubbed on a congested chest. Diluting with
the hand and body cream adds a moisturizing and luxurious feeling at the same time for sensitive skin.

Easy-Air contains NHP (Natural Health Product) oils. This means some of the oils in Easy-Air, have approved health claims.

These health claims are approved by Health Canada.
Cardamom  -  Lemon  -  Peppermint   -  Tea Tree
 All of these oils are:
  • Used in aromatherapy to help relieve colds and coughs.

Use Easy-Air in the diffuser to create a welcoming atmosphere. It is also great in the diffuser at night. Keep on hand for use in the diffuser seasonally. 2-4 drops in the diffuser is generally good. Seasonally it is also great to keep a roller on hand in a purse or pocket to use as needed.  When you make your rollers, for kids use 5 -10 drops in a 10 ml roller and up to 30 for adults. You get to choose how strong you want to make it. Top the roller up with your favorite carrier oil such as coconut, grape seed, or jojoba oils.

Easy-Air is great as a linen spray. Mix with water in a glass spray bottle, shaking before each use. Spray lightly for a refreshing scent on your pillow. If feeling stuffy with a cold it really helps.

I also like to use it in the filter of my vacuum cleaner and you can add 1-3 drops of Easy-Air to your furnace filter when you put the new one in. If you have cats or small animals do not put oils in the furnace filter, as there will be no place that they can get away from the oils if they want to.

BOGO 2 was Cassia and Wild Orange.
Cassia
Is a warm, uplifting, cinnamon-like aroma. When used in a diffuser it creates a welcoming spicy atmosphere.

My favorite Diffuser blend using Cassia is called Ginger snap. Use 3 drops Ginger  - 2 drops Cassia  -  2 Cove.

When coming in from the cold adding a drop to a small amount of carrier oil or hand and body cream helps to warm the hands. Great for a warming massage as well.

Use your Cassia to add a sweet, spicy flavour to your baking and other cooking.

Cassia is great in a massage as it is uplifting and warming to the skin. Dilute with a carrier oil for massage. 1-2 drops in a tablespoon of carrier. Dilute more if your skin is sensitive.

Wild Orange

Wild Orange I call the happy oil. Not only does it smell wonderful it is truly uplifting.

Wild Orange will freshen your breath
  • Offers a refreshing taste to water or recipes
  • Has a refreshing, uplifting aroma
  • Cleanses surfaces and improves the scent of the home
These NHP health claims are approved by Health Canada.
  • Used in aromatherapy as a nervine and calmative
  • Used in aromatherapy as a carminative and antispasmodic for symptomatic relief of digestive discomfort
I like to add Wild Orange to chocolate. You can create chocolate disks that harden to add to sundaes or for dipping onto the top of cookies. (see cover picture) Use wild orange essential oil anywhere in cooking that you would use zest. The flavour is phenomenal.

BOGO 3 was Roman Chamomile with Black Spruce and Copaiba

Roman Chamomile
Enjoy the calm and serene atmosphere that Roman Chamomile creates when used in the diffuser. Just a few drops are required to calm things down. Roman Chamomile pairs well in the diffuser with Lavender, Rose, Bergamot, Lemon, Clary Sage, or Patchouli.

Put on the bottom of your feet at bed time with the hand and body cream for happy relaxed and moisturized feet. You have a touch point on the bottom of your feet for your whole body. This will help call all of you.

If you are doing a presentation at work or presenting your speech in a class at school and you feel nervous, you can use Roman Chamomile in a roller bottle to carry with you and use as needed. Pair with a citrus oil to help uplift while calming. Wild Orange, Motivate blend, or Cheer blend are good choices to use in the roller.
Use the roller on the bottom of your feet, on your wrists, over your heart and any other place that helps you feel better. Use a maximum of 30 drops combined with the oils you use in your roller. Fill to the top with your favorite carrier oil such as coconut, grape seed or jojoba.

If you like doing DIYs, you can add Roman Chamomile to your hand creams, massage oil, shampoo, conditioner or even perfumes.

Use two drops of Roman Chamomile oil for a relaxing sensation during a comforting massage. Be sure to allow the person you are giving the massage, to breathe deeply from your hand to take in the fresh, floral aroma then massage in gentle motions for the ultimate relaxing experience.

  • Used in aromatherapy as a nervine and calmative
  • Used in aromatherapy as a carminative and antispasmodic for symptomatic relief of digestive discomfort

Copaiba
Is a very versatile essential oil. It works on the endocannabinoid system that goes throughout your body. It works on the CB 2 receptors (located in the immune system) so it has calming and soothing benefits that can be felt throughout the body.

Moisturizing and cleansing is great when you add 1-2 drops of Copaiba to your moisturizer or facial toner to use topically. Your skin will look clear and healthy. The doTERRA® hand and body cream is the best I have ever used. Massage into your hands and skin for a boosted moisturizing effect.

At the end of the day your feet may often be tired and sore. Adding two drops of Copaiba to a bowl of hot water with Epsom salt for a rejuvenating aroma and soothing foot soak. If you make DIY projects add to bath foot Fizzies.  See next weeks' blog for the recipe.

Copaiba can be used a personal fragrance. Dilute or use the doTERRA Touch Blend roller and apply to your inner wrists and neck. Personal perfume recipe will be in the next blog.

Add Copaiba oil into a calming bath. Add two to three drops to your bath water or combine with your bath gel of choice before lathering it in the water.

Diffusing Copaiba makes a great spa like experience. It will be an energizing and stabilizing aroma.

  • Black Spruce

  • Is a cool, energizing aroma. That has a soothing yet stimulating sensation on the skin. I really like this one. It reminds me of riding my horse through the evergreen forest near my home.

  •  Add two drops Black Spruce oil to Fractionated Coconut Oil and massage into problem areas during a soothing massage.

  • Massage one drop Black Spruce essential oil onto chest for an invigorating aroma.
Apply a few drops of Black Spruce oil to legs before or after exercising for an energizing aroma during a stimulating massage.

Black spruce in the diffuser gives you a grounding and energising environment. It is also great to add to your surface cleaner for its' cleansing properties.

BOGO 4 was Deep Blue oil with Deep Blue Rub

Deep Blue®

This is an amazing smelling blend of essential oils. I could just sit with the bottle near me all day. This blend was formulated specifically to soothe and cool. Perfect to use in a massage, before or after exercise on feet or knees and at the end of the day on tired feet.

If you have kids that are growing and experiencing discomfort, dilute Deep Blue and rub on area for cooling and soothing of the skin.

Deep Blue contains NHP (Natural Health Product) oils. This means some of the oils in Deep Blue, have approved health claims.

These NHP health claims are approved by Health Canada.

For Canada the BOGO contained Deep Blue Rub. For our U.S members the BOGO contained the Deep Blue stick.

Whichever form of support you received you can count on the soothing of Deep Blue in all of its' forms. The amazing smell is present for each and the rub and stick allow for easy application when on the go, like at sporting events.

Hope this information helps you. There will be DIYs next week and know that each of the recipes can change with the essential oils you wish it include. For example the Foot Fizzies could use Deep Blue instead of Copaiba or both at the same time. Each person has a different best oil or combination of oils. Be brave and creative.
