Essential oils although are from plants that you would use daily you need to remember they are potent and powerful. Essential oils do need to be used with respect and with knowledge to be used safely. That is why continuing education is important. Regularly we all harness essential oils in a less potent form. Peppermint extract used in baking has some essential oil in it. Zesting a lemon or an orange to put in a marinade or your baking makes use of the citrus oil that is in the rind. Using herbs in your food for added flavour is adding essential oils that help with the digestive system. So you can see, you already use them more than you thought. But when you start using a highly concentrated form like certified pure tested grade essential oils you do need to learn the best practices so you are not over using your essential oils and therefore not getting your best value and how versatile they are. You will hear this often, essential oils are to be used in small amounts often.
