FORTY-Second Blog   Bathroom Sparkle

We all need to get cleaned up and there are some things we all just have to do. 😉 BAthroom/washroom/lavatories and the countless other names we have for them, all need to be cleaned regularly.

We judge restaurants by how clean their bathrooms are and if they smell. If the bathroom is left untouched what on-earth do they do behind the scenes in the kitchen??? Fortunately you do not need to worry about your kitchen, you know what goes on there. You still want to have a clean bathroom for yourself and your family.

The bathroom attracts dirt, we take things in there to be cleaned not only ourselves. Thus everything in there is always needing to be cleaned. One of the top reasons to clean the bathroom is embarrassment. There is nothing more embarrassing for either person, when your company needs to use the restroom and finds it dirty.

Other Reasons to Clean the bathroom:
Hygiene - you do not want germs spreading about your home when it could be prevented.
Smell - An unclean toilet/bathroom will always smell. Often this is due to the high moisture content and things like a laundry basket full of dirty laundry.
Waste - It is a proven fact that particles of the things you flush down the toilet, especially if the lid is up, spread around the room.
Bacteria - the perfect environment for growth is warm and damp just like the bathroom.

There are other reasons like mold and potential maintenance issues you can catch early. Lots of reasons for cleanliness but you still have to be in there so why not enjoy the time?

Your enjoyment of the time you spend in the bathroom also depends on how it smells. Making it smell relaxing or uplifting depending on the time of day can help your mood. Do you keep a diffuser in your bathroom?

Bathroom Cleaning DIYs

Mold & Mildew Preventer
2 Cups water
30 drops Tea Tree essential oil
10 drops Peppermint essential oil

Add all ingredients to a spray bottle and shake well. Spray directly on mold or mildew. Do not rinse. Repeat daily or weekly as needed.

Disinfecting Toilet Bowl Cleaner
1/2 cup baking soda
1/4 cup vinegar
10 drops Tea Tree essential oil.

Mix ingredients to dissolve baking soda. Add to toilet. Let sit for five to fifteen minutes. Scrub with a toilet brush and flush.

Hope these help you. I use the above toilet cleaner but dump the baking soda into the toilet then add essential oils and the vinegar. I like the fact that the action of the baking soda and vinegar bubble to help clean.
